A former Executive Secretary to the immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP), Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo, has described Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a \u201cdemocratic dictator\u201d, claiming the President is averse to dissenting views.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7, flagship program Anopa Nkomo with Kwame Tutu, he observed the posture of the President on public issues is very partisan.<\/p>\n
According to him, he doesn\u2019t understand why the Akufo-Addo led government has politicized all the state institutions.<\/p>\n
A despot is a ruler or other person who holds absolute power, typically one who exercises it in a cruel or oppressive way.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019It is the people around them who fan their egos and created despots out of them\u2026Let us not allow Nana Akufo Addo to become a despot, it will not help anybody.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Peter Lanchene Tuubo making reference to attacks on state institutions said that it is the beginning of despotism \u2013 a form of government in which a single entity rule with absolute power.<\/p>\n
He further questioned why the rules of engagement are not being sorted but individuals are engaging in lawlessness.<\/p>\n
He argues that if they do not belong to political parties how come they are allowed to vote which is part of their civic responsibility.<\/p>\n
