Alicia Keys is one of our generation’s most talented songstresses, with a bevy of hits and inspirations.<\/p>\n

One of her greatest inspirations was grandmother, who inspired the song\u00a0Like You\u2019ll Never See Me Again.<\/p>\n

The artist brought her hosts to tears recently as she discussed the matriarch on an episode of Red Table Talk.<\/p>\n

Grandma’s girl: Alicia Keys recently opened up on Red Table Talk about her track Like You\u2019ll Never See Me Again, which she said was inspired by her grandmother<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Keys opened up about the song when she was asked about the best advice she’s been given.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old said of her grandmother: ‘When she was dying, she lived with me and it was amazing because all my life she had taken care of me and she was so elegant and strong and fierce and sincere.<\/p>\n

‘I knew I wasn\u2019t going to have her much longer and I started thinking about mortality a lot.’<\/p>\n

Keys began playing the song on a red piano, which took the place of the titular red table for this week’s episode.<\/p>\n
