{"id":12153,"date":"2019-10-16T18:30:38","date_gmt":"2019-10-16T18:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=12153"},"modified":"2019-10-16T18:30:38","modified_gmt":"2019-10-16T18:30:38","slug":"shs-double-track-system-difficult-to-understand-shatta-wale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2019\/10\/16\/shs-double-track-system-difficult-to-understand-shatta-wale\/","title":{"rendered":"SHS double-track system difficult to understand \u2013 Shatta Wale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dancehall act, Shatta Wale, says he does not understand the double-track system being implemented at various Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, it is a bit complex and difficult to comprehend because \u201cwhen I was going to school back then, it wasn\u2019t like this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The academic year for first-year SHS students started on September 11, 2018, with the commencement of a new educational system \u2013 the double-track system of education introduced by the government.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the single-track system, the new system divides the entire student body and staff into two different tracks. This means that while one track is in school, the other is on vacation.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing his thoughts on the new system, Shatta Wale said though the double-track system has been in the system for over a year, people like him can hardly understand how it works.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t see how the double-track system functions when I was going to school it wasn\u2019t like how it is. It\u2019s confusing,\u201d Shatta Wale said on Good Evening Ghana with host Paul Adom-Otchere.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Already\u2019 hitmaker bemoaned how difficult it had become for students to know the names of Ministers of State in school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGone are the days when you can easily know the ministers we have in the country. Now go on the streets and people don\u2019t even know them. The politicians are only confusing us,\u201d Shatta Wale said.<\/p>\n<p>When the host asked Shatta Wale if he would like to receive first-hand education from Deputy Minister of Education\u00a0in-charge of General Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, he replied: \u201cEven if he explains it to me, it won\u2019t work.
