Former Second Lady, Matilda Amissah Arthur has exposed what could pass for lies allegedly peddled by Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II about how the late former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur was transported from the Airforce gym to the hospital.<\/p>\n
The Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin in his account of events leading to the demise of former Vice president, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur claimed there was no ambulance to carry Mr Amissah-Arthur to the 37 Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival after thrown into the back of a pickup.<\/p>\n
In a video sighted by MyNewsGh.com, the respected chief was quoted to have said \u201cAs it\u2019s been for 14 years, any time I go there, I meet my friend and we\u2019ll talk, shake hands \u2026 and then go to our different machines\u2026 I heard \u2018bang\u2019! Three women in the gym were screaming, I left my machine and went and there lay my friend trying to find some air to breathe.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe gathered around him and pumped his heart as hard as we could, yelled out his name; his wife was calling out: \u2018Jesus, save him!\u2019 I just said: \u2018Call the ambulance, let\u2019s take him to the hospital.\u2019 There were about seven, eight of us, and something dawned on me. When we took him out, there was no ambulance, there was no car, we threw the former vice-president in the back of a pick-up and drove off to 37.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this moment, I went back to the gym and everybody had departed. The place was empty. I just went and got my towel and my phone, called my driver to take me home. I was waiting so anxiously on the phone to hear if somebody will call and say that he\u2019s alright. The call came, and Boakye, the trainer in the gym said Osagyefo, he didn\u2019t make it. The vice-president is dead.\u201d<\/p>\n
But discounting the claims of the Chief, his widow in an interview with David Ampofo on \u2018Time With David\u2019 said\u201d We went in a Benz, so the doctor and this officer said if we put him at the back of the Benz it\u2019s so short that we have to cramp him so I have a pickup; a double cabin pickup, let\u2019s put him on the second seat of the double cabin and let the doctor sit with him and I go with somebody else,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She added \u201cMy husband was a stickler for health\u2026 he does six months check-up, he didn\u2019t have diabetes or pressure so I wanted to know\u2026 but really he wasn\u2019t put in a bucket of a pickup.<\/p>\n
