At a meeting of the National Media Commission (NMC) and President Akufo-Addo, Chairman of the Commission,\u00a0Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh\u00a0said the debt of GH\u00a225m\u00a0 has dire consequence for National Security Council if not paid promptly.<\/p>\n
He\u00a0said on Wednesday that the country\u2019s spy agency relies heavily on the services of GBC and its outlets to monitor events in the country.<\/p>\n
JoyNews\u2019 Presidential Correspondent, Elton John Brobbey, reported that Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo\u00a0directed the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah,\u00a0to treat the issue as urgent to bring an amicable resolution.<\/p>\n
The President, who has been meeting organised bodies,\u00a0took the opportunity to caution the media\u00a0against yellow-journalism.<\/p>\n
The media must be balanced and fair, the president admonished.<\/p>\n
Nana Akufo-Addo further called for a clear balance between media freedom and responsibility.<\/p>\n
