{"id":15449,"date":"2019-11-20T23:31:46","date_gmt":"2019-11-20T23:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=15449"},"modified":"2019-11-20T23:31:46","modified_gmt":"2019-11-20T23:31:46","slug":"check-out-fuse-odgs-tuition-free-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2019\/11\/20\/check-out-fuse-odgs-tuition-free-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Check out Fuse ODG\u2019s tuition-free school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UK-based Ghanaian musician, Fuse ODG, is on a mission to spread his wealth to some underprivileged kids in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The artiste through his New Africa Nation initiative, started an orphanage in 2007 which has now been turned into a school.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM, Fue ODG said that the school built in Akosombo has\u00a0250 pupils currently enrolled.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.myjoyonline.com\/photos\/news\/201911\/1579863625164_1729090226814.jpeg\" alt=\"Fuse ODG school\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA\u00a0lot of them [the student]\u00a0are grown now because we started this in 2007. We\u2019re working on the secondary school and we\u2019re actually raising funds for it,\u201d he told Mamavi Owusu-Aboagye, host of the show.<\/p>\n<p>Fuse ODG, born Nana Richard Abiona, stated that the pupils don\u2019t have to pay fees, however, some parents who feel the need to contribute are allowed to help.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.myjoyonline.com\/photos\/news\/201911\/519060571470_1454923591990.jpeg\" alt=\"Fuse ODG school\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s not compulsory if you can&#8217;t afford it. A lot of the kids even stay over because they have nowhere else to go,\u201d the \u2018Antenna\u2019 hitmaker stated.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the expenses are taken care of by himself and funds raised by his friends.
