English side, Newcastle United have announced that head coach, Rafeal Benitez will leave the club at the
\nend of the month.
\nThe club in a statement, confirmed the exit of the Spanish gaffer after failing to reach an
\nagreement on a new deal. His contract runs out on 30th June, 2019.
\nBenitez took charge of the club in 2016 when the Magpies were 19th in the Premier League and could
\nnot save them from relegation but helped them gain promotion in their first season in the
\nchampionship, after topping the log.
\nThe Statement reads, “We have worked hard to extend Rafa’s contract over a significant period of time,
\nhowever it has not been – and will not be – possible to reach an agreement with Rafa and his
\nrepresentatives”.
\nRafa’s coaching staff, Paco de Miguel Moreno, Antonio Gomez Perez and Mikel Antia, will also leave the
\nclub on 30th June.
\n“We would like to thank Rafa and his coaching team for their efforts over the last three years and their
\nsignificant contribution to what has been collectively achieved.We would also like to thank our supporters, players and staff for their patience during a period of
\nuncertainty. The process to appoint a successor will now begin”<\/p>\n
