{"id":17809,"date":"2019-12-26T07:51:24","date_gmt":"2019-12-26T07:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=17809"},"modified":"2026-07-05T15:32:29","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T15:32:29","slug":"shatta-wale-scores-government-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2019\/12\/26\/shatta-wale-scores-government-15\/","title":{"rendered":"Shatta Wale scores government 15%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dancehall act, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. has waded into the Performance debate of President Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n<p>In a viral audio, Shatta Wale is heard saying the president\u2019s three years\u2019 performance in government deserves 15% marks.<\/p>\n<p>His assessment of the president comes days after Akufo-Addo\u00a0had told the Ghanaian press that contrary to some\u00a048% score awarded his government by\u00a0Imani Africa, a policy think tank,\u00a0 his government deserves 72% pass mark\u00a0for its performance.<\/p>\n<p>But Shatta Wale disagrees.<\/p>\n<p>The iconic reggae-dancehall musician and producer insists\u00a0the president deserves fewer marks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet me just give him 15% because people are complaining, you know, and me myself every morning the kind of people I have in front of my gate, as I\u2019m even not there now I\u2019m imagining the people there. If I go, it\u2019s like a doctor visiting his patients, you know, school fees, sickness, grandmother, grandfather.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The president\u2019s campaign promises of giving every district in Ghana a factory, every village a dam and every constituency US$1 million won him the heart of many Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p>He obtained a staggering 5,716,609 of total votes cast in the 2016 elections, representing 53.84%, to snatch the Presidency from John Mahama, who secured 4,713,277 votes (44.40%).<\/p>\n<p>Three years on Shatta Wale believes the president must be realistic with himself about his performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho gave them 72 per cent?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou see, me I don\u2019t lie, this thing that I\u2019m saying I just want the president to even know himself that people are complaining, that life has become unbearable in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>source:myjoyonline<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dancehall act, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. has waded into the Performance debate of President Akufo-Addo.
