He however, did not disclose in which constituency, the by-election will take place.<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><\/div>\n<p>His tweet comes after a\u00a0Court of Appeal in Cape Coast\u00a0struck out the appeal\u00a0by embattled Assin North Member of Parliament , James Gyakye Quayson, for non-compliance with court procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Quayson filed an appeal challenging a High Court ruling which ordered fresh elections to be held at\u00a0Assin North\u00a0and for him not to hold himself out as Member of Parliament for the area.<\/p>\n<div id=\"in-article\" data-google-query-id=\"CKmU_IXp3fYCFWS5UQodZTULDg\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/1002554\/Myjoyonline\/mjo-article-left_rectangle_mid1_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><\/div>\n<p>The presiding judge, Irene Charity Larbi, delivering her statement said that Mr. Quayson failed to comply with the Court\u2019s directives to submit his written submission within a stipulated time.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Otchere-Darko\u2019s post has generated mixed reactions in the comment section of the post.<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><\/div>\n<p>Some of the commentators have indicated that he is probably referring to the Dome-Kwabenya seat. The MP for that constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo is said to have been absent from Parliament since the House resumed this year.<\/p>\n<p>Adwoa Safo was last seen in Parliament in December, 2021, when she appeared in the House to dismiss claims by the Minority Caucus that she was impersonated by someone who attended proceedings of the House the previous day.<\/p>\n<p>She has since not returned to the Chamber.<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><\/div>\n<p>Some leading government officials and some of her colleague MPs in Parliament\u00a0accused her of blackmailing government\u00a0with a list of demands, including the Deputy Majority Leader post.<\/p>\n<p>Since the news broke, many analysts have called for her seat to be\u00a0declared vacant.<\/p>\n<p>Other tweethearts also mentioned the Ahanta West seat where the MP,\u00a0Ebenezer Kojo Kum\u00a0was reported to\u00a0have suffered a stroke\u00a0a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Gabby Otchere-Darko, has given indications that a by-election may take place in April, 2022.
