At the ongoing 64th Grammys awards show, the Beninois singer has been crowned winner of the Best Global Music Album category for her ‘Mother Nature’ music project released on June 18, 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The ‘Meant For Me’ singer beat competition from Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni who has been nominated in the same category alongside Wizkid, Daniel Ho & Friends, Angelique Kidjo, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The winner for the category has been announced on social media by Recording Academy with a tweet that says “Congrats Best Global Music Album winner – ‘Mother Nature’ @angeliquekidjo #GRAMMYs<\/em>“.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The win becomes the fourth time Ang\u00e9lique Kidjo has grabbed a Grammy award. The award ceremony is happening tonight in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Show was scheduled to happen at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Mon, January 31, 2022, but the Recording Academy postponed it due to the outbreak of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Ghanaian singer was nominated for the Grammys in 2015 for his sixth studio album titled ‘Branches of The Same Tree’ in the category of Best Reggae Album. The nomination made the ‘Black Star’ singer the first Ghanaian to be nominated for Grammys.
