Osama bin Laden\u2019s second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri has appeared in a new video in which he denounced the \u2018enemies of Islam\u2019 after a school in India\u00a0<\/a>banned the wearing of the hijab.<\/p>\n

In a nine-minute video released by As-Sahab Media, Al-Qaeda\u2019s official media wing, al-Zawahiri praised Muslim student Muskan Khan after she wore the Islamic scarf at a school in Karnataka state, governed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).<\/p>\n

According to translations provided by counter-terror experts on Twitter, including the SITE Intelligence Group that monitors jihadist websites, the Egyptian-born doctor accused \u2018the pagan Hindu democracy of India\u2019 of seeking to \u2018oppress Muslims\u2019.<\/p>\n

Al-Zawahiri, who took over al-Qaeda after Bin Laden\u2019s death in 2011, also decried France, Holland, and Switzerland, as well as Egypt\u00a0<\/a>and Morocco, as \u2018enemies of Islam\u2019 for their anti-hijab policies.<\/p>\n
