Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has opened his doors for a nationality switch after stating it\u2019s possible to play for Ghana.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 22-year-old\u2019s parents are from Ghana but the striker was born in Lewisham, a suburb of London in England.<\/p>\n

\n

Nketiah has featured for England at youth level and is currently the country\u2019s record scorer at U21 level with 16 goals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Speaking on The Beautiful Game Podcast, the young forward confirmed that he\u2019s open to playing for the Black Stars, insisting it\u2019s a possibility.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cMy parents are both Ghanaian [so] of course it\u2019s a possibility [playing for Ghana],\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

\n

I\u2019m open to both, that is playing for Ghana and obviously England as well. Being from Ghana, you would be happy that they qualified for the World Cup.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nketiah came through Chelsea\u2019s academy before joining London rivals Arsenal as a teenager in 2015.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

However, the striker has enjoyed very limited game time at the Emirates, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to him, though, he is only focused on excelling for the Gunners, as they aim to finish in the top four.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe priority is my club situation. You have to know what you\u2019re doing for the season. There is no point looking too far ahead when there is a big decision in your career standing in front of you. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cAt the moment my full focus is on my club and sorting out things for next season. Once that is finished then I can really sit down with my family and have that discussion [Ghana]. I\u2019m not closing the door to anything,\u201d <\/em>Nketiah added.<\/p>\n
