{"id":21437,"date":"2022-05-10T22:15:58","date_gmt":"2022-05-10T22:15:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=21437"},"modified":"2022-05-10T22:15:58","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T22:15:58","slug":"ja-rule-gives-lil-kim-her-flowers-for-influencing-nicki-minaj-cardi-b-megan-thee-stallion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2022\/05\/10\/ja-rule-gives-lil-kim-her-flowers-for-influencing-nicki-minaj-cardi-b-megan-thee-stallion\/","title":{"rendered":"JA RULE GIVES LIL KIM HER FLOWERS FOR INFLUENCING NICKI MINAJ, CARDI B &amp; MEGAN THEE STALLION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ja Rule forged successful partnerships with the likes of Ashanti, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Milian during his early 2000s heyday, but it was another female artist he was mesmerized with during his appearance on <em>The Breakfast Club<\/em> on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>After arguing female rappers don\u2019t get enough love when it comes to conversations about who belongs on Hip Hop\u2019s Mount Rushmore, the Queens, New York native gave Lil Kim her flowers for setting the blueprint that many of today\u2019s biggest stars \u2014 including Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion \u2014 have followed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s talk about Lil Kim,\u201d Ja said. \u201cWhen you look at the Cardis and the Nickis and the Megans \u2014 every female. And then go listen to the <em>Hard Core<\/em> album. I understand why she\u2019s so revered like that. That album is <em>crazy<\/em>. And she\u2019s <em>spitting<\/em> on that album. She\u2019s going on that album! So I get it when these females are like, \u2018Yo, Kim was it for me.\u2019 I get it now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ja Rule\u2019s sentiment echoes that of Mary J. Blige, who in a 2020 interview with Andy Cohen made a similar point about Lil Kim\u2019s pioneering career.<\/p>\n<p>My baby girl, my little sister,\u201d she said. \u201cI mean, one of the most incredible female rappers to open the door for so many women. She\u2019s a trailblazer and one of the biggest rappers [and] most respected rappers in the business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite her enduring influence, Lil Kim has yet to work with either Nicki Minaj, Cardi B or Megan Thee Stallion. While her interactions with Cardi and Megan have been nothing but respectful, the same can\u2019t be said for her relationship with Nicki.<\/p>\n<p>The rap queens famously traded diss tracks and subliminal shots during a long-simmering feud that divided fanbases, although things seem to have cooled down in recent years.
