{"id":22741,"date":"2022-05-31T17:42:04","date_gmt":"2022-05-31T17:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=22741"},"modified":"2022-05-31T17:42:04","modified_gmt":"2022-05-31T17:42:04","slug":"npp-flag-bearer-race-im-driving-the-mamprusi-bus-obiri-boahen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2022\/05\/31\/npp-flag-bearer-race-im-driving-the-mamprusi-bus-obiri-boahen\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP flag bearer race: &#8216;I\u2019m driving the Mamprusi bus&#8217; \u2013 Obiri Boahen"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"article-reading-content\">\n<div class=\"article-reading-summary\">\n<p>The Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahen, has said he is the driver of the Mamprusi bus, in reference to his support for Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, one of the flag bearer hopefuls for the 2024 elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m driving the bus all the way to the North East Region, the hometown of the Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia\u201d, he told Odehyeeba Kofi Essuman, sit-in host of Accra100.5M\u2019s morning show, Ghana Yensom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are currently warming the engine of the bus en route to North East Region with the Mamprusi man at the helm of affairs\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Bawumia is a Mamprusi from the North East Region, which was carved out of the Northern Region by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my life, as a politician, and in the history of the party, all the flag bearers I have supported won\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI supported the late Prof. Adu Boahen, J.A.
