{"id":24877,"date":"2022-08-12T09:50:39","date_gmt":"2022-08-12T09:50:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=24877"},"modified":"2022-08-12T09:50:39","modified_gmt":"2022-08-12T09:50:39","slug":"dead-cops-will-be-replaced-with-qualified-relatives-igp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2022\/08\/12\/dead-cops-will-be-replaced-with-qualified-relatives-igp\/","title":{"rendered":"Dead cops will be replaced with qualified relatives \u2013 IGP"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mvp-post-soc-in\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-body\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-body-top\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\" class=\"left relative\">\n<p><strong>Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare (PhD) has disclosed that Police Officers who die in line of duty will be replaced with their qualified relatives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He says this is part of measures to ensure that Police personnel give off their best in protecting the citizens of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>George Akufo Dampare made this known when he spoke at a forum on the campus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST).<\/p>\n<p>The Police Chief said there are works in place to ensure that the Ghana Police Service becomes a reference point for policing across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>Dampare used the opportunity to make the public aware of the need to criticise the work of the service.<\/p>\n<p>However, he was quick to add that criticisms should be constructive in order not to demoralize men and women in the service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen a police officer dies on duty, we have put new measures in place to ensure that a relative of the deceased officer who is qualified is recruited into the service as part of efforts to urge our officers to do their best in protecting the public,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"04df10818452c41d4681b11514950b40\" data-index=\"2\"><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1518840061916921\" data-ad-slot=\"7412766695\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\" data-adsbygoogle-status=\"done\" data-ad-status=\"unfilled\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"aswift_2_host\" title=\"Advertisement\" aria-label=\"Advertisement\"><\/div>\n<p><\/ins><\/div>\n<p>Adding that \u201cWe want a police service of the people, by the people and for the people.
