He recalled being admitted to Cedars-Sinai hospital in January 2021 during the pandemic.\u00a0\u00a0<span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-887\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m at Cedars-Sinai hospital and they weren\u2019t allowing anybody to come up, meaning visitors or family or anything like that, because of COVID, but they allowed my family to come in,\u201d Dr. Dre shared. \u201cI found out later, they called them up so they could say their last goodbyes because they thought I was out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Dr. Dre was initially unaware of the gravity of his situation when his family visited. \u201cNobody told me,\u201d Dr. Dre said. \u201cI had no idea. That was crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During his hospitalization, Dr. Dre spent two weeks in ICU, during which time he did not eat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of what was going on in my brain, they had to wake me up every hour, on the hour, for two weeks to do these tests,\u201d Dr. Dre said. \u201cBasically, sobriety tests, like touch your nose, rub your heel on your calf, and all that s###.\u201d Watch the clip below.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-dr-dre-warns-black-men-to-check-on-their-blood-pressure\">Dr. Dre Warns Black Men to Check On Their Blood Pressure<\/h2>\n<p>Just months later in June 2021, Dr. Dre revealed he was \u201cfeeling fantastic,\u201d and shared his thoughts on his health scare.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a really weird thing. I\u2019ve never had high blood pressure. And I\u2019ve always been a person that has always taken care of my health,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut there\u2019s something that happens for some reason with Black men and high blood pressure, and I never saw that coming. But I\u2019m taking care of myself,\u201d Dr. Dre continued. \u201cAnd I think every Black man should just check that out and make sure things are OK with the blood pressure.
