{"id":27682,"date":"2022-11-25T11:37:41","date_gmt":"2022-11-25T11:37:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=27682"},"modified":"2022-11-25T11:37:44","modified_gmt":"2022-11-25T11:37:44","slug":"the-essentials-playlist-by-kanye-west-was-taken-off-from-apple-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2022\/11\/25\/the-essentials-playlist-by-kanye-west-was-taken-off-from-apple-music\/","title":{"rendered":"The &#8220;Essentials&#8221; playlist by Kanye West was taken off from Apple Music"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple Music has removed Kanye West\u2019s \u2018Essentials\u2019 playlist from its platform, following his antisemitic comments online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this week, Adidas cut ties with the rapper for his comments in which he said he would go \u201cdeath con 3\u201d on Jewish people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple now appears to be following Adidas\u2019 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although his albums and songs are still available to listen to, Kanye West Essentials, a playlist of the hitmaker\u2019s biggest songs, is no longer available on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spotify, however, are yet to move on Ye, with its CEO, Daniel Ek, telling Reuters earlier this week that despite the 45-year-old making \u201cawful\u201d comments, he has not violated the platforms anti-hate policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple Music\u2019s main rival said it would be down to&nbsp;to Ye\u2019s label, Universal Music Group\u2019s Def Jam, to pull his catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ek said: \u201cIt\u2019s really just his music, and his music doesn\u2019t violate our policy. It\u2019s up to his label, if they want to take action or not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Def Jam\u2019s partnership with Ye\u2019s GOOD Music label ended in 2021, Universal Music Group has said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday, a day after Adidas dropped Ye, he turned up at Skechers LA office \u201cunannounced and without invitation\u201d and was escorted from the premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement, the company said two Skechers executives \u201cescorted him and his party from the building after a brief conversation\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skechers made clear in its statement that the company \u201cis not considering and has no intention of working with West\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech.
