Le Parisien newspaper said\u00a0a 69-year-old man opened fire on a group of people at the Ahmet-Kaya Kurdish cultural centre on rue d\u2019Enghien in the French capital\u2019s 10th arrondissement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paris prosecutors told the public broadcaster, France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions, that police had arrested the alleged gunman and seized his weapon soon after the shooting. The suspect, a French national, was a retired train conductor, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An investigation has been opened for murder, voluntary manslaughter and aggravated violence, a spokesperson for the prosecutor\u2019s office was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One witness, a shopkeeper in the street, told Agence France-Presse that seven or eight shots had been fired, causing chaos. \u201cIt was just complete panic \u2013 everyone locked themselves in,\u201d the woman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
