Less than 19 hours later, their Dragon capsule was bobbing in the sea as they awaited pickup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier in the week, high wind and waves in the splashdown zones kept them at the station a few extra days.&nbsp;<strong>Their replacements arrived more than a week ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat was one heck of a ride,\u201d Mann radioed moments after splashdown. \u201cWe\u2019re happy to be home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mann, a member of Northern California\u2019s Wailacki of the Round Valley Indian Tribes, said she couldn\u2019t wait to feel the wind on her face, smell fresh grass and enjoy some delicious Earth food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata craved sushi, while Russian cosmonaut Anna Kikina yearned to drink hot tea&nbsp;\u201cfrom real cup, not from plastic bag.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NASA astronaut Josh Cassada\u2019s to-do list included getting a rescue dog for his family. \u201cPlease don\u2019t tell our two cats,\u201d he joked before departing the space station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remaining behind at the space station are three Americans, three Russians and one from the United Arab Emirates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wakata, Japan\u2019s spaceflight champion, now has logged more than 500 days in space over five missions dating back to NASA\u2019s shuttle era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">___ The Associated Press Health and Science Department receives support from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute\u2019s Science and Educational Media Group.
