{"id":32788,"date":"2023-05-05T10:32:39","date_gmt":"2023-05-05T10:32:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=32788"},"modified":"2026-07-09T17:32:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T17:32:13","slug":"asempa-fms-moshosho-reveals-history-behind-his-name","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2023\/05\/05\/asempa-fms-moshosho-reveals-history-behind-his-name\/","title":{"rendered":"Asempa FM\u2019s Moshosho Reveals History Behind His Name"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Popular Asempa FM sports presenter, Kwadwo Mensah Moshosho, has stunned Ghanaians with an interesting revelation about his name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The voice behind the biggest morning sports show in Ghana, <em>The Ultimate Sports<\/em> has told his life story and events that led him to adopt the name Moshosho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Born Benedict Kwadwo Mensah, Moshosho, a nickname has turned out to be a more popular name of his and is now a household name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gracing the set of Adom TV <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/?s=Afia+Amankwa\">M\u2019ashyase3<\/a><\/strong>, the presenter revealed he earned the name during his secondary school days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a student of New Juaben SHS in Koforidua of the Eastern Region, all students had nicknames but he happened to be among the few who didn\u2019t have one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This, he disclosed, did not sit well with a friend and dorm mate, Richard Mensah who decided to confer the name on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe were in House 2 room 3 which was popularly known as a police station. In the third term of form 1, Richard announced the name one day with inspiration from King Moshosho of Lesotho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt wasn\u2019t a name I was happy with but one thing I realised was that, in secondary school, the name you don\u2019t like was what people would rather call you.
