The Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin Yeboah, has charged new lawyers who have been enrolled to the Ghana Bar Association to undertake more unpaid legal cases for the needy in the society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at a mini event to call 196 graduates of the Ghana School of Law to the bar on Friday, May 5, 2023, the outgoing Chief Justice encouraged young legal practitioners to do their best in speaking for the voiceless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEven though the legal aid commission is not well resourced\u201d, he believes this act can go a long way to help in ensuring equality before the law and national development.
\u201cSpeak up for those cannot speak for themselves. Develop the practice of conducting pro bono cases for the needy. You have to do the best you can as young practitioners to help the needy and the vulnerable in the society,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But \u201cabove everything, be on the side of the truth,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah also urged the new lawyers to maintain the professional appearance at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More so, they should \u201cbe mindful of your temperament and demeanour. Show respect to your seniors in chambers, judges, court officials and the law clerks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Friday\u2019s event afforded students who could not be called to the bar last year for various reasons join their peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In spite of a number of allegations and a petition requesting the Chief Justice to halt his cacll to the bar, former SRC President of the School of Law, Victor Wonder Kutor, was handed his certificate to practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
