The Bisa Aberwa Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the black race, promoting African values and celebrating pan-African heroes.<\/p>\n
With about 2,200 artefacts, sculptural pieces and photographs of heroes of the African struggle and the African American Civil Rights Movement, as well as other Black personalities in the French, Portuguese and Spanish Caribbean, the museum is created to be one of the largest sculptural representations of personalities whose sacrifices have shaped African history, both within the continent and the diaspora.<\/p>\n
The inauguration will be performed by the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, while the chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mr Moussa Faki Mahamat is also expected to be a special guest at the event.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a press briefing at Nkotompo, Kwaw Ansah, who is the founder and first CEO of TV Africa Limited and chairs the\u00a0 museum\u2019s 12-member Board of Trustees, said \u201cAfrica has made contributions to world civilisation and we ought to show to tell our story.\u201d<\/p>\n
About Africa\u2019s history related to slavery and colonialism, Mr Ansah said, \u201con display at Bisa Aberwa are artefacts that are a reminder of the struggle of the black race, our culture and belief system.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has extended an arm of co-operation to the museum.<\/p>\n
Justifying the GTA\u2019s interest,\u00a0 Akwasi Agyemang, the Chief Executive Officer of the authority, told the press\u00a0 that \u201cBisa Aberwa is a welcome addition to Ghana\u2019s heritage resource.\u201d<\/p>\n
He described the museum as \u201cingenuous and creative\u201d\u00a0 and congratulated Kwaw Ansah \u201cfor once again blazing the trail\u201d.<\/p>\n
