Mbapp\u00e9 has long been admired by Madrid\u2019s president, Florentino P\u00e9rez, and even after the shock renewal of his PSG contract last year \u2013 a deal that was said to include a salary of \u00a320m after tax and a signing bonus in excess of \u00a3100m \u2013 the striker spoke openly about the idea of joining Madrid and called P\u00e9rez personally last year to explain his decision to stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his time at PSG, Mbapp\u00e9 has also won the World Cup in 2018, scoring in the final against Croatia, and hit a hat-trick in France\u2019s defeat by Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Champions League is one trophy that has eluded Mbapp\u00e9, but PSG are expected to be a weaker team in Europe next season. Lionel Messi has already confirmed that he is joining Inter Miami and Neymar has also been heavily linked with a move away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
