{"id":35330,"date":"2023-06-23T03:21:45","date_gmt":"2023-06-23T03:21:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=35330"},"modified":"2023-06-23T03:21:56","modified_gmt":"2023-06-23T03:21:56","slug":"ndc-accuses-npp-of-spraying-cash-in-assin-north","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2023\/06\/23\/ndc-accuses-npp-of-spraying-cash-in-assin-north\/","title":{"rendered":"NDC accuses NPP of spraying cash in Assin North"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Deputy National Communication Officer of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2023\/06\/20\/ndc-knows-im-the-one-who-can-beat-mahama-bawumia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"NDC knows I\u2019m the one who can beat Mahama -Bawumia\">National Democratic Congress<\/a> (NDC), Malik Basintale, claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is on a cash-spraying spree in the Assin North Constituency ahead of the June 27th by-elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also said that the party is giving out items, including foodstuff and T-shirts, to buy the votes of constituents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Basintale made the claim in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on\u00a0Eyewitness News\u00a0on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/citinewsrom.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Citi FM\">Citi FM<\/a>\u00a0in Accra on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey are spraying cash in Assin North. People were taking T-shirts, and some were given an amount of money. They are proud of doing it, just like they did in Kumawu,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Basintale indicated that they had captured the acts on video and were ready to show them to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis shameless act has been captured on video. We have said that this is something that is no longer done in secrecy. The NPP is all out there doing these things, and they are not shying away from them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Basintale said the situation was worrying because, after the evidence gathered after a similar situation in the Kumawu by-election, the party was not invited for an inquiry into the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAfter all the evidence was presented that they were giving some amount of money to delegates, no one was invited. That is what has brought about what is happening today,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Basintale said the government had used state resources to its advantage and was not being careful about how it was doing so.
