{"id":39004,"date":"2023-10-20T16:32:46","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T16:32:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=39004"},"modified":"2023-10-20T16:32:48","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T16:32:48","slug":"kasoa-residents-block-major-highway-to-protest-deplorable-roads-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2023\/10\/20\/kasoa-residents-block-major-highway-to-protest-deplorable-roads-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Kasoa Residents Block Major Highway To Protest Deplorable Roads [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scores of residents at Kasoa in the Central region hit the streets on Friday to protest the deplorable nature of their roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The residents said their numerous complaints about the bad roads linking many communities to the Greater Accra to the Central region have yielded no results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-10-20-at-13.12.56.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2308181\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The demonstration was therefore to mount pressure on the appropriate authorities to fix the deplorable roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-10-20-at-13.12.57-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2308184\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The protesters blocked both the Accra and Central region sections of the road, leaving commuters stranded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/10\/image-5-13-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39005\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/10\/image-5-13-jpg.webp 960w, https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/10\/image-5-13-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/10\/image-5-13-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/10\/image-5-13-750x422.webp 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also led to heavy vehicular traffic on the stretch which forced many residents who were on their way to work and other places to return home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-10-20-at-13.12.58.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2308185\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The protesters carried placards with messages such as&nbsp;<em>\u2018No Action Talk Only Fix Ghana, CECIDAP Susu Can Save Kasoa Road,\u2019 \u2018Papa Nebu, Fix Kasoa Road Now,\u2019 \u2018We Need a Proper Drainage System,\u2019 \u2018Drivers Are Suffering,\u2019 \u2018We Are Hungry,\u2019 and \u2018King Promise, Do Something Before You Go,\u2019 among others.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-10-20-at-13.12.57.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2308183\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They marched from the Tuba taxi tank, through the highway and presented a petition to the Municipal Chief Executive for Ga South Municipal Assembly, Joseph Nyani.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scores of residents at Kasoa in the Central region hit the streets on Friday to protest the deplorable nature of their roads.
