The United States would oppose a reoccupation of Gaza by Israel\u2019s military in post-conflict Gaza, the White House said on Tuesday.
White House national security spokesperson John Kirby, who was responding to comments by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReoccupation by Israeli forces of gaza is not the right thing to do,\u201d Kirby said. He aded that, \u201cIsrael and the United states are Friends and we do not have to agree on every single word,\u201d and that, \u201cNetanyahu and Biden are not always exactly in the same place on every issue.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Netanyahu told ABC News that Gaza should be governed by \u201cthose who don\u2019t want to continue the way of\u00a0Hamas,\u201d without elaborating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI think Israel will, for an indefinite period, will have the overall security responsibility because we\u2019ve seen what happens when we don\u2019t have it. When we don\u2019t have that security responsibility, what we have is the eruption of Hamas terror on a scale that we couldn\u2019t imagine,\u201d Netanyahu said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
