{"id":40029,"date":"2023-11-15T16:11:52","date_gmt":"2023-11-15T16:11:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=40029"},"modified":"2023-11-15T16:12:05","modified_gmt":"2023-11-15T16:12:05","slug":"budget-2024-ghana-set-to-cross-gh%c2%a21-trillion-gdp-mark-for-the-first-time-ofori-atta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2023\/11\/15\/budget-2024-ghana-set-to-cross-gh%c2%a21-trillion-gdp-mark-for-the-first-time-ofori-atta\/","title":{"rendered":"Budget 2024: Ghana set to cross GH\u00a21 trillion GDP mark for the first time \u2013 Ofori-Atta"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has revealed that Ghana is set to hit the one trillion Ghana cedi Gross Domestic Product (GDP) mark for the first time in its economic history in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a marked improvement from the GH\u00a2219.5 billion the Akufo-Addo government inherited in 2016, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, to ensure that the country achieves this yardstick within the final year of President Akufo-Addo\u2019s tenure in office, the government, he said, is jealously guarding the foundation for sustained economic expansion. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe pledge to protect this for all our people and especially for private sector growth. And we shall do so by ensuring that the enabling factors are in place and accessible to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese will include reliable energy supply, stable Cedi, lower inflation and lower interest rate regimes, access to private sector credit, infrastructure provision, food security, national security, and inter-continental market linkages through increasing active platforms such as the AfCFTA,\u201d he said November 15, while delivering the budget statement and economic plan for the 2024 fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the government in the medium term will maintain economic stability and ensure sustained growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are determined to remain on this course of increased growth, currency stability, and disinflation over the medium-term.
