Moller-Maersk\u00a0(MAERSKb.CO)\u00a0will pause all container shipments through the Red Sea until further notice and send them on a detour around Africa, a spokesperson for the company told Reuters on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Following the near-miss incident involving Maersk Gibraltar yesterday and yet another attack on a container vessel today, we have instructed all Maersk vessels in the area bound to pass through the Bab al-Mandab Strait to pause their journey until further notice,&#8221; the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"4b596a\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #4b596a;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/12\/image-3-2-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40834 not-transparent\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/12\/image-3-2-jpg.webp 960w, https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/12\/image-3-2-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/12\/image-3-2-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/12\/image-3-2-750x500.webp 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maersk on Thursday said its vessel Maersk Gibraltar was targeted by a missile while travelling from Salalah, Oman, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and that the crew and vessel were reported safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier on Friday Maersk\u00a0denied a claim\u00a0by Yemen&#8217;s Iran-aligned Houthi movement that the militia had struck a Maersk vessel sailing towards Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The vessel was not hit,&#8221; a Maersk spokesperson told Reuters in an emailed statement following the Houthi claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Danish shipping company A.P.
