Donald Trump, just weeks after using the fascist terminology \u201cvermin\u201d to describe sections of American society he dislikes, again declared at a\u00a0New Hampshire\u00a0rally that immigrants are \u201cpoisoning the blood of our country\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Condemned for his previous remarks at the last rally he held in New Hampshire \u2013 where he threatened to \u201croot out the communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country that lie and steal and cheat on elections\u201d \u2013 Trump appeared to double down in Durham on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019re poisoning the blood of our country. That\u2019s what they\u2019ve done,\u201d Trump told the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey poison mental institutions and prisons all over the world, not just in South America \u2026 but all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019re coming into our country, from Africa, from Asia, all over the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the second time Trump has used the poisoned blood phrase, which has been widely condemned for\u00a0echoing white supremacist rhetoric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first time he did so, in October, Joe Biden said the former president, who faces 91 criminal charges, was starting to use language heard in Nazi Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrump also recently talked about, \u2018The blood of America is being poisoned\u2019 \u2026 Again, echoes the same phrases used in Nazi Germany,\u201d Biden said at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN has reported that if the former president wins in 2024, he plans to\u00a0expand\u00a0the hardline immigration policies of his first term, during which children were separated from their families at the border and caged. His new plans reportedly include placing undocumented immigrants who already live in the US into detention camps, purportedly to await deportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, he said he would \u201crestore and expand\u201d his bans on travel to the US \u2013 in 2017, he forbid entry to many Muslim-majority countries and African nations \u2013 and said he would \u201cimplement strong ideological screening for all illegal immigrants\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The broadcaster Mehdi Hasan said on Saturday: \u201cClassic Trump: say something crazy outrageous, neo-Nazi-like and it gets headlines, creates outrage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo wait a little. Then say it again, no one notices, no coverage, and it gets normalized and mainstreamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
