{"id":40947,"date":"2023-12-19T17:00:05","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T17:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=40947"},"modified":"2023-12-19T17:00:09","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T17:00:09","slug":"achimota-rastafarian-student-scores-8-a1s-in-2023-wassce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2023\/12\/19\/achimota-rastafarian-student-scores-8-a1s-in-2023-wassce\/","title":{"rendered":"Achimota Rastafarian Student Scores 8 A1s In 2023 WASSCE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/?s=WASSCE+2020\">2023 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination<\/a>&nbsp;(WASSCE) results of Tyrone Iras Marhguy, who was nearly denied admission at Achimota Senior High School (SHS) have popped up on social media<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He scored 8As in the provisional results released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His performance has earned him the love of many who have described him as indeed a genius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marhguy Tyrone was one of the two boys who made headlines in 2021 after being denied admission at Achimota School because of their dreadlocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ghana Education Service (GES) directed the school\u2019s administration to admit the two students. However, the authorities insisted that its code of conduct doesn\u2019t tolerate such hairstyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The boy and his colleague, Oheneba Kwaku Nkrabea, who later reportedly transferred Ghana International School dragged the school to court for denying them admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A High Court ruling on the matter on Monday, May 31, 2021, directed the school to admit the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the school\u2019s Management and the Attorney General, Godfred Dame, served notice to appeal the court\u2019s order, arguing the judge erred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After weeks of legal battle, Tyrone was finally admitted to the school and he has justified his inclusion with his outstanding performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"cfc7c4\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #cfc7c4;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"643\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/12\/image-3-11-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40948 not-transparent\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/12\/image-3-11-jpg.webp 643w, https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/pub\/2023\/12\/image-3-11-188x300.webp 188w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 643px) 100vw, 643px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The&nbsp;2023 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination&nbsp;(WASSCE) results of Tyrone Iras Marhguy, who was nearly denied admission at Achimota Senior High School (SHS) have popped up on social media He scored 8As in the provisional results released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
