He said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tonight, the year of 2024 begins. The objectives of the war require prolonged fighting, and we are preparing accordingly. We are wisely planning the management of the forces operating in the field, looking at the reserve system, the economy, refreshing forces, and continuing the combat training processes in the IDF.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After announcing that some reservists who were called to join Israel\u2019s war in Gaza would return to their families and jobs this week \u2013&nbsp;<strong>Hagari<\/strong>&nbsp;went on to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These adaptations are designed to ensure planning and preparation for the continuation of 2024, as the IDF must plan ahead, understanding that we will be required for additional tasks and warfare throughout this year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hagari<\/strong>&nbsp;made the comments during a press briefing on New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s after prime minister\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Netanyahu<\/strong>said on Saturday that the war would continue for \u201cmany more months\u201d and that Israel would assume control of the\u00a0Gaza\u00a0side of the border with Egypt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Israel Defence Forces spokesperson Rear Adm\u00a0Daniel Hagari\u00a0has indicated that the conflict\u00a0could go on throughout 2024.
