Russian president\u00a0Vladimir Putin\u00a0has thanked his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping for what he said was China\u2019s role in trying to solve the Ukraine crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a joint appearance in Beijing, the two leaders and other senior officials from both sides signed documents on deepening mutual cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putin said negotiations between the two delegations had been warm and businesslike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russian state news agency RIA-Novosti quoted Putin as saying that Russia-China relations are \u201cnot directed against anyone. Our cooperation in world affairs today is one of the main stabilising factors in the international arena,\u201d and Putin complimented Xi on China\u2019s belt and road initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putin said \u201cTogether, we uphold the principles of justice and a democratic world order that reflects multipolar realities and is based on international law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xi said the two countries were furthering their relationship as \u201cgood neighbours, good friends, good partners\u201d, and that China hopes for the speedy restoration of peace and stability in Europe<\/a>.
