Elon Musk has said he plans to give $45m a month to a Super Pac focused on electing Donald Trump, starting in July, the Wall Street Journal\u00a0has reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tech billionaire, who endorsed Trump two days ago, has already donated what was described as \u201ca sizable amount\u201d to the America Pac, though the actual amount of the donation will not be made public in election filings until 15 July, Bloomberg\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both news outlets\u2019 reports on Musk\u2019s donations relied on the accounts of unnamed people familiar with the plans of the tech billionaire, who, with an estimated net worth of\u00a0$252bn, is one of the richest people in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Musk follows through with a donation of this scale, it would be \u201can extraordinary sum,\u201d the Wall Street Journal reported, citing the largest known donation of the 2024 cycle so far as the $50m contributed to a Super Pac supporting Trump \u201cby the great-grandson of banker Thomas Mellon\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of 30 June, Musk had not made any donations to the Super Pac, according to a review of records by the New York Times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
