Mason Greenwood has completed his transfer to Marseille from Manchester United. The clubs agreed a \u20ac31.6m (\u00a326.7m) deal\u00a0earlier this month, with the Premier League club set to receive a sizeable share of any sell-on for the forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Spanish side Getafe, has signed a five-year contract with\u00a0Marseille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A statement from the French side read: \u201cOlympique de Marseille are delighted to announce the signing of Mason Greenwood from\u00a0Manchester United. The 22-year-old striker has signed for the club following a successful medical.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In October 2022 Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He denied all the counts and\u00a0criminal charges were dropped\u00a0in February 2023 after key witnesses withdrew their cooperation from the investigation and new material came to light, according to the Crown Prosecution Service. Greenwood was suspended by United in January 2022 over the allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said in February this year that the club would take a decision on Greenwood\u2019s future in the summer. A short statement from United confirmed the transfer, which delivers on the club\u2019s prior commitment that the one-cap England international would continue his career away from Old Trafford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
