In line with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced the government\u2019s side of the Transition Team to oversee the seamless transfer of executive authority to the incoming administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team comprises key government officials, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Chief of Staff (Team Co-Chairperson)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Godfred Yeboah Dame<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Attorney-General<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Minister responsible for Presidential Affairs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Minister responsible for Finance<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Hon. Henry Quartey<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Minister responsible for the Interior<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Hon. Dominic Nitiwul<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Minister responsible for Defence<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Minister responsible for Local Government<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    • Dr. Nana Ato Arthur<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Head of Local Government Service<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Ambassador Mercy Debrah-Karikari<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Secretary to the Cabinet<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Mr. Edward Asomani<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 National Security Coordinator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The Transition Team will be inaugurated on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in a meeting between President Akufo-Addo and President-elect John Dramani Mahama, who will serve as Co-Chairpersons. Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare has been designated to act as Co-Chairperson in the absence of the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Furthermore, the President has appointed former Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, to the Advisory Council, with the current Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, as Chairperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The President-elect also announced the members of his side of the Transition Team earlier today, ensuring balanced representation as the teams work together to maintain governance stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      President Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his commitment to a smooth transition process, emphasizing its importance in strengthening Ghana\u2019s democratic credentials.
