{"id":44875,"date":"2025-01-14T20:22:12","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T20:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=44875"},"modified":"2025-01-14T20:22:14","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T20:22:14","slug":"mahama-appoints-justina-nelson-as-acting-ceo-of-miif","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2025\/01\/14\/mahama-appoints-justina-nelson-as-acting-ceo-of-miif\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama appoints Justina Nelson as Acting CEO of MIIF"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her appointment which takes immediate effect comes less than 24 hours after the President revoked Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng\u2019s appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Justina Nelson is currently a Group Head at Zenith Bank with oversight responsibility for both energy and commercial Banking sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She brings extensive experience in the mining and finance sectors having held various senior positions in both private and public institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has in accordance with Article 195 (1) of the Constitution and Section 21 (2) of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) Act, 2018 (Act 978), appointed &nbsp;Ms. Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income Investment Fund\u201d, a statement from the Presidency announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The appointee holds a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law, a Master in Business Administration (Marketing), a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Management and Psychology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Edward Koranteng sacked<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier on Tuesday January 14, the President revoked the appointment of Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng as the Chief Executive Officer of MIIF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yaw Koranteng\u2019s appointment was revoked in a letter dated January 13, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The revocation letter, signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, directed Yaw Koranteng to hand over his duties to the government\u2019s representative at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson.
