{"id":44996,"date":"2025-01-26T18:33:42","date_gmt":"2025-01-26T18:33:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=44996"},"modified":"2025-01-26T18:33:44","modified_gmt":"2025-01-26T18:33:44","slug":"mahama-forms-seven-member-committee-for-national-economic-dialogue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2025\/01\/26\/mahama-forms-seven-member-committee-for-national-economic-dialogue\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama forms seven-member committee for National Economic Dialogue"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President John Dramani Mahama has set-up a seven-member National Economic Dialogue (NED) Planning Committee as part of his 120-day Social Contract with Ghanaians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative aims to tackle Ghana\u2019s pressing economic challenges and lay the foundation for sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ghanaian travel experiences<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee, chaired by renowned economist Dr. Ishmael Yamson, will organise a high-level dialogue to foster consultation and consensus on policies essential for transforming Ghana into a high-growth, inclusive and resilient economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has four weeks to submit its report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other members include Dr. K.Y. Amoako, Professor John Gatsi, Mohammed Samara, Nelly Mireku, Anthony Sarpong and Ernest De-Graft Egyir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement issued on January 26, 2025, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, outlined the NED\u2019s objectives which include communicating the true state of Ghana\u2019s economy to stakeholders and citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe NED will offer a platform for dialogue and consultation on the country\u2019s pressing development challenges.
