{"id":46063,"date":"2025-08-21T23:24:20","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T23:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=46063"},"modified":"2025-08-21T23:24:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-21T23:24:23","slug":"bawumia-leads-npp-presidential-race-with-52-ken-agyapong-trails-with-17-poll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2025\/08\/21\/bawumia-leads-npp-presidential-race-with-52-ken-agyapong-trails-with-17-poll\/","title":{"rendered":"Bawumia leads NPP presidential race with 52%, Ken Agyapong trails with 17% \u2013 Poll"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been tipped as the frontrunner in the race to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections, according to a new poll released by Global Info Analytics on August 21, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The poll shows Dr. Bawumia commanding 52% support among NPP delegates ahead of the party\u2019s upcoming presidential primaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His closest contender, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, trails significantly with 17%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other candidates in the race received lower levels of support. Dr. Bryan Acheampong polled 3%, followed by former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum with 1%. Former General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko, and Addai Nimo each received less than 1%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, 10% of delegates remain undecided, while 9% declined to disclose their preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The poll surveyed 2,656 NPP delegates, with 2,560 completing all responses. Interviews were conducted from August 12 to 20, 2025, across 263 of the 276 constituencies using computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI).
