President John Dramani Mahama says the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy has not only been preserved but significantly strengthened<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at his media encounter in Accra on Wednesday, September 10, President Mahama addressed widespread misinformation that had been circulating before the December 7, 2024, elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stressed that \u201cContrary to the widespread misinformation that was circulated before December 7, 2024, the Free SHS has not only been maintained. We\u2019ve made the highest budget allocation in the history of the policy as of now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting the government\u2019s commitment, President Mahama revealed that a staggering GHS 3.5 billion has been dedicated to the Free SHS program this year, marking an unprecedented investment in Ghana\u2019s education sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also announced a significant boost to Ghana\u2019s healthcare funding for 2025, highlighting the government\u2019s commitment to strengthening the country\u2019s health system amid rising domestic and global health challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President revealed that the national health budget has increased by 13.4%, rising from GHS 15.6 billion to GHS 17.8 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
