{"id":46932,"date":"2025-10-14T21:18:34","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T21:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=46932"},"modified":"2025-10-14T21:18:36","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T21:18:36","slug":"dvla-suspends-road-compliance-fines-effective-october-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2025\/10\/14\/dvla-suspends-road-compliance-fines-effective-october-15\/","title":{"rendered":"DVLA suspends road compliance fines effective October 15"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced the suspension of all fines issued by its Compliance Team on roads across the country, effective Wednesday October 15, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suspension will remain in place until further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This move comes after weeks of intensified enforcement by the DVLA\u2019s Compliance Team, aimed at ensuring that drivers and vehicles on Ghana\u2019s roads met all legal and regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, following public feedback and further internal consultations, the Authority has decided to halt the exercise temporarily to allow for broader stakeholder engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement issued on October 14, the DVLA emphasised that while road safety remains a top priority, it recognises the need for more public education on the responsibilities and consequences associated with non-compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis suspension relates specifically to the fees and charges that were being enforced by the Compliance Team,\u201d the statement clarified. \u201cIt does not suspend the legal requirements for drivers and vehicles to operate on Ghana\u2019s roads.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-10-14-at-16.54.45_6dbbb0cf.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1246374\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The DVLA assured the public that the suspension is intended to create space for further discussions before reintroducing the compliance initiative.
