The gesture is made \u201cin honour of her memory and in recognition of her distinguished service to the nation.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Life of Service Remembered<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nana Konadu served as First Lady and was the founder of the 31st December Women\u2019s Movement \u2014 an organisation that played a pivotal role in mobilising women for socio-economic empowerment in Ghana.&nbsp; The government statement emphasised her lifelong commitment to women\u2019s empowerment, child welfare and social development.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Condolences and National Reflection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Government extends its deepest condolences to the family, her children, and all who mourn this irreplaceable loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace.\u201d the statement adds.&nbsp; Tributes have been pouring in across the country from political leaders, civil society groups, and the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What Next?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funeral and memorial arrangements are expected to be announced in due course by the family in consultation with the state.
