{"id":48682,"date":"2026-02-01T07:05:01","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T07:05:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/?p=48682"},"modified":"2026-02-01T07:05:04","modified_gmt":"2026-02-01T07:05:04","slug":"andrew-should-testify-to-us-congress-starmer-suggests-after-new-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nsemgh.com\/2026\/02\/01\/andrew-should-testify-to-us-congress-starmer-suggests-after-new-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Andrew should testify to US Congress, Starmer suggests after new photos"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has suggested that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor should testify before the US Congress over his dealings with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;In terms of testifying, I have always said anybody who has got information should be prepared to share that information,&#8221; he told reporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;You can&#8217;t be victim-centred if you&#8217;re not prepared to do that,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Epstein&#8217;s victims have to be the first priority.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PM&#8217;s comments come after the latest release of files related to Epstein, which include images appearing to show Mountbatten-Windsor kneeling over a female lying on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BBC News has approached the former prince for comment. He has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Democrats in Congress asked Mountbatten-Windsor to answer questions as part of their Epstein investigation in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time, Starmer said the invite was a matter for Mountbatten-Windsor to consider &#8220;personally&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday, the US Department of Justice released over three million pages of documents related to Epstein, six weeks after a deadline mandated in a law signed by US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No context is supplied for the photos of Mountbatten-Windsor kneeling over the unidentified woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In two of the images, he is seen touching the person, who is fully clothed, on her stomach. Another image shows him staring directly at the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The photographs appear to match the interior of Epstein&#8217;s New York City mansion. BBC Verify has found the decor seen in the photos appears to be consistent with other images of the townhouse&#8217;s interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pictures are likely to put further pressure on Mountbatten-Windsor, who has faced years of scrutiny over his past friendship with Epstein.
