This levy imposes a fee on international air tickets, tickets within Africa, ECOWAS region, and domestic flights. The funds collected will be used to develop airports across the country.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The levy introduces additional charges on various flight tickets:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>International flights: US$50 per ticket<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Domestic flights: GH\u00a2100 per ticket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These funds will be allocated to a dedicated account to support airport development nationwide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Mahama emphasized the importance of modern airports in supporting regional development and improving connectivity. He noted that Wa has been selected as a beneficiary of the fund, with plans to build an entirely new airport rather than upgrade the existing facility.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President explained that the current airport site is unsuitable, noting that a major road was diverted to accommodate the runway.
