Morocco have been declared winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations 2025 after the Confederation of African Football overturned the result of their final against Senegal national football team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senegal had originally secured a 1-0 victory over Morocco national football team in the final played on 18 January. The match, however, was marred by controversy after Senegalese players briefly refused to continue play when a stoppage-time penalty was awarded to Morocco with the score still level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The disruption led to a delay of about 17 minutes before the match resumed. Morocco\u2019s Brahim Diaz saw his penalty saved, and Senegal\u2019s Pape Gueye later scored the winning goal in extra time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following a review of the circumstances surrounding the incident, CAF has now annulled the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the continental football body said Senegal are \u201cdeclared to have forfeited the final match,\u201d with \u201cthe result of the match being recorded as 3-0 in favour\u201d of Morocco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
