Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has warned Ghanaians against getting rid of Coach Kwesi Appiah, arguing that the coach needs more time to adjust and get his team in order.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s our own; we should give him enough time to prepare and let\u2019s stop giving him pressure\u201d He told Afia Pokua on her show Vim Talk.<\/p>\n
Fatau also expressed his disappointment at the fact that Ghanaians find it difficult to work with a Ghanaian coach and would rather opt for a foreign coach to replace him.<\/p>\n
According to the former coach, not all defeats faced by a team are caused by the Coach\u2019s incompetence, and the players are sometimes just as much to blame.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople are judging Kwesi Appiah based on his reaction on the field, and that\u2019s very wrong. A coach\u2019s advice in the dressing room is more important than his reaction on the field\u201d He said.<\/p>\n
\u201cA coach\u2019s duty is to teach players how to perform properly before they get to the field, but if they perform poorly, it is their fault sometimes, not the coach\u2019s. So I find it unnecessary that they put all the blame on Kwesi Appiah for the Black Star\u2019s poor performance. We should never even think of sacking Kwesi Appiah.\u201d<\/p>\n
