A visually impaired Senior State Attorney has braced all odds to build a 12- unit classroom block for the people of Kasoa-Domeabra in the Central Region.<\/p>\n
Evelyn Appiah, 51, a teacher said on Adom FM\u2019s morning show \u2018Dwaso Nsem\u2019, Wednesday that the gesture was to give back to the community.<\/p>\n
The native of Larteh said she took loans to build the school which is at the ground floor.<\/p>\n
Speaking of her challenges, she said a borehole she constructed in the school has been destroyed whilst a Polytank that serves as water for the school has been stolen.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am a teacher by profession and instead of just sitting idle, I decided to build a school which is not in my community but in Kasoa. I chose that project because I am a teacher by profession and won\u2019t allow my talent to go waste,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She added that she trusts managers of the school which is currently at the primary level.<\/p>\n
She revealed how she did not allow her current impairment to discourage her from contributing positively to society by building a school in a farming community.<\/p>\n
The former student of the Akropong School for the Blind and then Presbyterian Training College appealed to authorities to help her with a bus for the school which provides all inclusive education.<\/p>\n
Evelyn Appiah attended University of Ghana, Legon where she graduated with a Degree at the Faculty of Law. She was called to the bar in 2008 and has since been working at the Attorney General\u2019s Department.<\/p>\n
