Chief of Gomoa Budumburam, Nana Kojo Essel II, has said his people are under self-imposed curfew due to persisted robbery attacks in the area.<\/p>\n
According to him, the area allocated for refugees from Liberia is now a den for all manner of criminal activities.<\/p>\n
A distraught Nana Essel on Adom FM\u2019s Dwaso Nsem programme, Thursday said they are at their wits end following the murder of two police officers in the area.<\/p>\n
He revealed how he is compelled to bury dead bodies on almost daily basis due to the increased criminal activities in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have to bury dead bodies abandoned in the area. Most of the corpses have missing body parts, obviously they use them for ritual purposes,\u201d he bemoaned.<\/p>\n
The Gomoa Budumburam chief revealed that, the Liberia Camp is a no go area around 6:00pm and anyone who dares try is either robbed or killed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe police are even afraid to go there because these armed robbers, mostly Ghanaians, have taken over the camp,\u201d he narrated.<\/p>\n
Nana Essel said the camp has outlived its usefulness, hence must be demolished and the land used for an infrastructural project which will benefit the community.<\/p>\n
