We were not fantastic but efficient- CK Akunnor

Asante Kotoko head coach, Charles Kwablah Akunnor, says his team’s efficiency has earned them the NC
Special Competition trophy.
Akunnor admitted his team in recent weeks has not been fantastic in their play, but commended the
players for working hard to get the results regardless.
Kotoko will represent Ghana in the next CAF Champions League competition, after emerging winners of the Tier 1 NC
Special Competition.
The Pocupine Warriors defeated Karela United 4-1 on penalties against after the game had ended 1-1 in
regulation time.
“It was a very difficult game. I think in the past probably one week
we’ve had difficult matches. We’ve played Hearts of Oak, we played Ashgold and today, and I must say
we’ve not been fantastic but we’ve been efficient”, Akunnor said after the game.
“The boys have done very well..I’m pleased to have boys like these and it’s been a difficult journey for
us to be rewarded for such a win. I think we are grateful and I’m grateful to the boys”, he added.
The former Black Stars skipper, said injury concerns also led to their average performance in the final.
