NSMQ semis: Defending champs St Peter’s qualify for finals, Wesley Girls trail

The defending champions of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), St Peter’s Boys’ Senior High School (SHS) have qualified for the final of the competition after easing their way past Tepa SHS and Wesley Girls’ High School in today’s semi-final.

Darkhorses Tepa were hoping to pull off what would likely have been the biggest upset of the 2019 NSMQ by stunning the defending champions and much-fancied Wesley Girls’ but Peter’s (PERSCO) were miles ahead of both teams after four rounds of competition.

PERSCO now join five-time champions Presbyterian Boys’ SHS as the second finalist while they await the winner of the last semi-final between St Augustine’s College (AUGUSCO), Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) and Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO).

PERSCO dominated three out of the four rounds of the contest with healthy margins but fell short in the Problem of the Day round which was won by Wesley Girls although all three schools scored low points
