NDC’s Claim Of Gov’t’s Recruitment Of Party Members Into Security Forces Is Only A Rumour – Kweku Baako Jnr
Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper Kweku Baako Jnr, has watered down the minority’s allegations that government is nicodemusly recruiting party members into the security forces.
According to the veteran journalist, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are only inviting government as well as all Ghanaians on a rumour journey.
” The minority are inviting us all on a rumour journey. Why do you hold a press conference, accusing government of enlisting its members into the national security forces, without any proof?”, he quizzed.
Baako further said he doubted not the claim by the minority in parliament that sources within the security forces are not enthused about the development.
” I would never doubt that the NDC still have some links within the security forces. Why? They have been in power more than any other political party in Ghana, hence I won’t question the source of the claims; but if you make these allegations and don’t bring any evidential proof, how do you want us to believe you?”, he queried.
” Why do you throw an allegation and ask the government to rather come out to refute such allegations? If you are alleging then you are to bring evidence of your claims. They could have made use of the parliament to ask all the questions as well as even, dealing with the issue at the Committee level”, he opined.
Mr. Baako was responding to the NDC’s lawyer Eduwudzi Tamakloe on Metro TV’s Goodmorning Ghana, which was monitored by nsemgh.com.
